The Impact of Caregiving Burden on Mental Well-Being in Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery Caregivers: The Mediatory Role of Perceived Social Support

An increase in caregiver burden and a decrease social support have both been identified as predictors of poor psychological distress. However, little is known about the role these factors coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) caregivers. The purpose this study was to investigate whether change perceived from pre post surgery mediated relationship between depressive symptoms subjective well-being surgery. A sample 101 caregivers elective CABG patients were assessed 28 days before 62 after patients’ Caregivers completed Oberst Burden Scale, Enhancing Recovery Coronary Heart Disease (ENRICHD) Social Support Instrument, Beck Depression Inventory, Control, Autonomy, Self-Realisation, Pleasure (CASP-19) scale. Psychological interventions aimed at population should promote deal with caregivers’ tasks demands
